Mangalore University has launched Correspondence Course Programmes as per the National Education Policy in order to reach higher education to all sections of the society.
Objective of the Programs
The objectives of these programmes are (a) promote higher education through non-formal means, specifically through correspondence mode (b) promote the concept of correct intelligence among students and teachers (c) establish networking of learners and knowledge practitioners by means of Information and Communication Tech (d) offer both conventional & innovative courses for knowledge proliferation (e) take such courses to the doors of socially and economically disadvantaged sections of the society (f) collaborate with national and international educational organizations to promote excellence in non-formal education (g) export quality higher education through communication networks (h) perform such other functions as and when specified/prescribed by the University

Eligibility for Mangalore University UG PG Diploma & Certificate Programs 2015 by DDE
UG Programmes:
i) A candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or who has passed any Diploma course of three years duly recognised by Karnataka State technical Education Board or any other exam considered as equivalent thereto by Mangalore University is eligible for admission to the above degree programs
ii) A candidate who has passed 1st year/1st & 2nd Semesters or II year/First to Four Semesters of any Bachelor Degree of Mangalore University is eligible for admission to II or III year of the respective Bachelor degree as the case may be, subject to the conditions required to be imposed by the University
PG Programmes:
A candidate who has passed any Bachelor degree examination of Mangalore University or of any other University considered as equivalent thereto is eligible for admission to these PG Programmes
i) Eligibility Certificate is required for the candidate who has passed the qualifying examinations outside the state of Karnataka
ii) Additional information if any will be furnished as and when required
Certificate Course in Tulu:
A candidate who has passed SSLC Examination conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or any other examinations considered as equivalent thereto shall be eligible
Diploma Course in Tulu:
A candidate who have passed two year Pre-University examination conducted by the Pre-university Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other exam considered as equivalent thereto shall be eligible or candidates who have passed Certificate Course in Tulu are also eligible
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction for B.A., B.Com., B.B.M., Certificate courses shall be English or Kannada. However, it shall be English only for PG & PG Diploma programmes (except to Tulu)
How to Apply for UG PG Diploma & Certificate Programs 2015 by DDE:
Application forms and Prospectus may be obtained in person from the office of the following on payment of Rs.200/- to the Account of Mangalore University in any one of the specified banks through the challan

Application forms and prospectus may also be obtained by post from the Director, at the above address, by sending the Bank challan on payment of Rs.240/- in the above manner or Demand Draft of any Nationalised Bank for Rs.240/, drawn in favour of "The Finance Officer, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri" payable at Mangalagangothri /Mangalore
Duly filled in application forms should reach the Director, Directorate of Correspondence courses, Mangalore University, Shopping Complex, Mangalagangothri-574199, within the above dates
The study materials concerned will be issued to the students at the time of their admissions itself
