Aligarh: The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India has sanctioned an amount of Rupees Two Crores Seventy Four Lakhs and Twenty Five Thousand as financial assistance for the M.Tech. in Nanotechnology programme at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Professor S. Alim Husain Naqvi, Programme Coordinator of Nanotechnology said that the Ministry of Science and Technology has approved fellowships to fifteen students and grants for equipment.
Prof. Naqvi appreciated the initiatives of AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor P.K. Abdul Azis for taking a keen interest in this new emerging discipline at the University.
The Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh has also approved AMU's proposal to establish a Center of Excellence in Material Science (Nano-materials).
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has already sanctioned a grant of Rs.50 lakhs for an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Nanotechnology programme at AMU.
