GURGAON – PGP-HR ADMISSION 2009 – MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE
Introduction: The PGP-HR prepares candidates for HR careers in industry and services. It develops capabilities in all the three domains – knowledge, attitude and competencies. The programme is designed to: Prepare well-rounded business managers rather than HR managers alone.Students are given a holistic grounding in management with heavy accent on HR. Emphasis on action and performance, rather than concept and input focus alone. Give appreciation of business realities, demands and challenges and their role in this scheme, through in-company internships. Provide appreciation of cross-cultural issues through exposure to international students as well as interaction with corporate executives with trans-continental experience. To develop change management competencies. Through a mentoring process (attachment with corporate role models/the Industry Acharya’s/Gurus), the students are shaped to ‘hit the ground running’ when they take on their first job.

Eligibility: DoPT Participants: Officers of the All India Services and Central Services subject to the following eligibility conditions: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by The Association of Indian Universities/AICTE as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management. Seven or more years of work experience
Age limit – 50 years (53 years for SC/ST candidates)
Other Participants: The participant must have a Bachelors degree in any field of study. At least 10 years of experience of which a minimum of 3 years must be in the middle management (or equivalent) levels in their current organisations.Age limit – 50 years (53 years for SC/ST candidates).

Selection Criteria: The selection will be on the basis of academic screening, case discussion followed by an Interview. The Selection Committee will comprise of faculty members from School of Public Policy and Governance, MDI, senior professional / executives from public and private sectors.
Fee Details: DoPT Participants: Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India will bear the costs that may be incurred on domestic and international component of the programme for all participants sponsored by DoPT, subject to rules and regulations laid down by DoPT from time to time.
Other Participants: The total expenditure on the domestic component of the programme (including tuition fee and lodging expense) is Rs 4, 87,250. This does not include Overseas tuition Fees for courses Airfare, Visa and insurance etc.
