The main programme currently offered by the School leads to the degree of Master of Business Administration from IIT Kharagpur. This is a full-time four-semester (2 year) residential programme for graduate engineers and Masters’ degree holders in science, economics and commerce, intending to pursue management careers in India or abroad. In a relatively short period, VGSOM has been recognised as one of the top business schools in India .The MBA curriculum has evolved to be among the best in the country combining the traditional strengths of IIT in technical education with modern management philosophy.
Total credits required to earn degree of Master of Business Administration : 89 to 93 credits
Duration : 2 years (4 semesters)
Advantages: Teaching techniques include lectures, case-studies, group projects and workshops. A two-month summer internship in industry expose students to practical management problems. The core of the programme includes compulsory courses in Human Resource Management, Production & Operations, Marketing, Finance, Information Systems Management, Organisational Behaviour, Economics, Strategic Management, Legal Aspects of Business, Business Ethics, Quantitative Methods and Business Communication. A large number of electives from across several IIT departments are available for a student to pursue his/her individual interests in greater depth.
Fee Details: Fees for the MBA programme of four semesters cover tuition fee, room rent, part of the teaching materials, library and computer facilities and other institutional fees. The current fees are Rs. 1,25,000/- per semester.
