JAIPUR – NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURAL MARKETING – PGDM ADMISSION 2009
The National Institute of Agricultural Marketing with its mission of imparting training to the various level functionaries involved in agricultural marketing activities and conducting consultancy research project for the sponsoring organizations has been playing active role since its inception.
Introduction: NIAM offers a AICTE approved two-year PGDABM for students with graduation or Post-Graduation in agriculture and allied sciences. The Post Graduate Diploma in Agri-Business Management combines the best of MBA with unique skills required for a career in Agri-Business.It churns out professionals to cater to the needs of various sectors of agri-business sectors like food, retailing, Agri-input/output marketing, pharmaceuticals, Plantation, exports, commodity trading, microfinance, banking, Agri-Business consultancy etc.
Programme Design: The curriculum here consists of 37 core courses and over 4 electives totally comprising 118 credits spread over two years. Constant review ensures that the courses are both contemporary and pertinent. The PGDABM course is composed of a mix of core courses, electives, seminars and industry interaction. NIAM customize the educational experience by maintaining a low student-to-faculty ratio. A small group-learning environment is encouraged and the faculty and students share an excellent rapport with each other.
Eligibility: The minimum Qualification for admission into the programmes is a FOUR YEAR bachelor’s degree with atleast second division or equivalent OGPA in
1. Agriculture or allied subjects,
2. Veterinary Science
3. Dairy Technology,
4. Food Technology
from any Agricultural University or Institution recognized by the ICAR. The students who are going to complete their degree by July-August 2010 are also eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure: All India entrance test NIAMAT conducted which covers quantitative analysis, data interpretation, English, Agriculture & social awareness questions. On the basis of written test students are finalized. The final test comprises group discussion/case studies, extempore and personal interview. Thus after a rigorous procedure a student is selected for PGDABM at NIAM.
