Kannur University Kerala announces correspondence admission 2015

Applications are invited for admission to the following courses/Programmes offered by the School of Distance Education of Kannur University for the academic year 2015-16

Certificate Courses

Afzal-Ul-Ulama (Preliminary): 2 years

Eligibility: Pass in S.S.L.C or Examination Equivalent thereto

Admission Fee: Rs.1200/-

Additional Optional (Co-operation): 1 year

Eligibility: Pass in B.Com Degree Examination from Kannur University

Eligibility/Equivalency Certificate issued by Kannur University shall be submitted along with the application in the case of courses other than S.S.L.C of Kerala /S.E of CBSE and ICSE

Under-Graduate Courses: 3 years

B.A.: English; History; Economics; Malayalam; Political Science; Sociology

Eligibility: Pass in Pre-Degree / Plus Two (10+2) or Examination Equivalent thereto

B.A Mathematics: Pass in Pre-Degree/Plus Two or Examination Equivalent thereto with Mathematics as one of the subjects

B.A. (Afzal-Ul-Ulama): Pass in Afzal-Ul-Ulama Preliminary / +2 / Pre Degree Examination

Admission Fee: Rs.1750/-

B.Com (Co-operation)/B.B.A: Pass in Pre-Degree /Plus Two or Examination Equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks for Non-Commerce students and pass for Commerce students

Admission Fee: Rs.1750/- BBA: Rs.4900/-

B.C.A: A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto with Mathematics or Computer Science or Computer Application or Informatics Practicices as one of the optional subject

Admission Fee: Rs.8500/-

M.Sc Mathematics Grading: Pass in B.Sc (Mathematics) with CGPA 1.5 (2009 & 2010 Admission) or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III

Non Grading: Pass in B.Sc Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries)

M.Com Grading: Pass in B.Com / B.B.A / B.B.M / BBS with 1.5 or CGPA 1.5 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III

Non Grading: Pass in B.Com / B.B.A / B.B.M / B.B.S equivalent Degree with not less than 45% marks in Part III

M.A English Grading: Pass in B. A English or Functional English with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III Pass in BA / B Sc with SGPA 1.5 in Part I English with three papers

Non Grading: Pass in B.A. in English or Functional English with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (Excluding Subsidiaries) or pass in B.A / B.Sc Degree with a minimum of 45% marks in Part I English with three papers

M.A Political Science Grading: Pass in B.A Political Science with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part-III Pass in any Degree with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III

Non Grading: Pass in B.A. Political Science with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries) Pass in any Degree with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III

M.A History Grading: Pass in B.A History with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III

Non Grading: Pass in B.A. History with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries)

M.A Economics Grading: Pass in B.A Economics with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III or; Pass in B.Sc (Mathematics / Statistics) with CGPA 2.8 or CGPA 3.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III

Non Grading: Pass in B.A. Economics with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries) or; Pass in B.Sc (Mathematics / Statistics) with a minimum of 70% marks in Part III (excluding subsidiaries)

M.A Malayalam Granding: Pass in B.A Malayalam with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III or; any B.A/B.Sc degree with 50% marks in part II Malayalam (II language) or equivalent CGPA

Non Grading: Pass in B.A. Malayalam with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries)

MA Arabic Grading: Pass in B.A Arabic/Afsal-Ul-Ulama with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 (2008 Admission) in Part III or Any B.A/B.Sc degree with 50% Marks in part II Arabic (II language) or equivalent CGPA

Non Grading: Pass in B.A Arabic/Afsal Ul Ulama with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries)

All UG Courses Admission Fees: Rs.3950/- Qualifying examinations for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be the Courses of Kannur University or equivalent exam recognized by Kannur University Examination fee shall be remitted separately after the exam notification II/III year course fee shall be remitted in the beginning of II/III Year

MBA Program: A pass in any bachelor’s degree examination (under 10+2+3 pattern) in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Law, Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture etc. with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA, of this University or any other Indian or Foreign University duly recognized by the Kannur University as equivalent thereto

However, candidates belonging to the other backward communities are eligible for a concession of 5% marks in the qualifying exam; those belonging to SC/ST having secured a pass in the degree examination are eligible to apply for admission to the programme

Payment of fees: By Challan in Treasury (Head of Account 8658-00-102-96 (27) KUS) or; In SBT (Head of Account 102-005)

Demand draft in favour or Finance Officer, payable at Kannur University Branch of SBT (only for applicants outside Kerala)

Fee Concession: SC/ST/OEC candidates will have the following options for availing of fee concession subject to govt. rules

Parallel college students: Take online admission after remitting the required admission fee and apply for scholarship for parallel college study through the Block Development Officer concerned, with the Certificate issued by the University to the effect that fee has been paid

Other students: Take online admission without remitting the fee and apply for fee concession in the prescribed format (application for Post Metric Scholarship) attaching Community, Nativity and Income Certificates along with application for admission

Relaxation of Marks: SC/ST/OEC and OBC candidates are eligible to get relaxation of 10% and 5% marks respectively in the minimum marks prescribed for admission under non grading pattern subject to minimum for pass
