Applications in prescribed forms are invited from eligible candidates for B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral), M.S and M.Tech courses of Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology for the session 2015-16. B.Tech admissions are from CEE counseling as per schedule already notified by Director of Technical Education, Assam

B.Tech Admission (on allotment from CEE counseling, deposit Counseling Fee of Rs. 1000/- and then proceed for admission): 02nd to 09th July 2015

B.Tech Counseling-cum-Admission: 11th July 2015 (10.00 am at GUIST)

B.Tech (Lateral Entry) - Online Application for Appearing Entrance Test (13th July 2015): 03rd July to 11th July 2015

M.Tech - Online Application for Appearing Entrance Test (13th July 2015): 03rd July to 11th July 2015

M.S. - Submission of Application Forms (Collect and submit from): 13th July to 20th July 2015

Applications for other reserved categories (GU Employee, Fringe Village, Extra and Co curricular, Differently Able) are to be submitted in the office of the GUIST within 13th July 2015
Courses offered by Gauhati University

B.Tech Course: (4 years)

Eligibility: As per CEE (Assam) norms

Admission Criteria: As per CEE rank

B.Tech (lateral entry to 2nd year)

Eligibility: 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent in the concerned branch with first class or equivalent grade

Admission Criteria: Admission Test to be conducted by respective departments, GU on 13th July 2015

M.Tech in Biotechnology:  (2 years)

Eligibility: B.Tech/M.Sc (Biotechnology and/or allied subjects)

Admission Criteria: Admission Test to be conducted by GUISTon 13th July 2015

M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Technology with specialization in i) Signal Processing and Communication ii) Signal Processing and VLSI Design: (2 years - Full Time & Part Time)

Eligibility: M.Sc (El. Sc/ECT/Instr.) or B.Tech/B.E in Elect & Communication/ Instrumentation /Electrical or Equivalent

Admission Criteria: Admission Test to be conducted by GUIST on 13th July 2015

For M.Tech Part time category, minimum 3 years professional experience required

Eligibility: B.E/B.Tech in CSE/IT/ECE/ MCA/M.Sc - IT/ M.Sc - CS/ M.Sc - Maths & Computing or equivalent

M.S (2 yrs.): Chemical Science, Mathematical Science, Physical Science

Eligibility: 4 years B.S. in relevant subject passed from Gauhati University

Admission Criteria: On the basis of marks obtained in B.S.
