Eligibility for RMLNLU Lucknow PhD entrance exam 2015
The Registration to Doctor of Philosophy shall be open to the following candidates:
He/She has obtained the LLM degree of Dr. RML National Law University, Lucknow or its equivalent degree of any other university recognized by the UGC with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade
The eligibility requirement for admission to PhD Degree in Inter-Disciplinary Subjects shall be:
a) A Master’s degree of any university recognized by UGC having at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade in any subject relevant to the proposed research work with a Bachelor’s degree in Law; or
b) A Master’s degree of any university recognized by UGC having at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade, in any subject relevant to the proposed research work with established research credentials by way of publications; or
c) A Master’s degree of any University recognized by UGC having at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade in any subject relevant to the proposed research work with long-term in-depth practical experience in the area to be researched
If a candidate with the aforesaid qualifications in Social Sciences and Humanities shall be admitted to the Program, if the research he/she intends to pursue, interfaces with the discipline of law
The previously mentioned candidates have qualified in the Written Examination and Interview
A candidate whose result is awaited may also apply, however he/she must possess the requisite qualifications on the date of Interview
Selection Procedure for RMLNLU Lucknow PhD entrance exam 2015
The eligible and short-listed candidates who have qualified in the Interview will be selected for Admission on the basis of their inter se merit in the Written Test and Interview
In event of tie between two or more candidates in their inter se merit, the tie will be broken by the following procedure and order:
(i) Higher marks in the Master’s Degree
(ii) Higher marks in the Undergraduate Degree
(iii) Higher in age
Mere fact that the name of a candidate appears in the Merit List, will not give any right to the candidate to get registration to the PhD Program
Number of Seats for RMLNLU Lucknow PhD entrance exam 2015
There shall be 12 seats for the Law Stream and 11 seats for the Social Science and Humanities for the Academic Session-2015-16. The allocation of seats shall be as follows:
Unreserved – 06 in Law [History-01, Political Science-01, Sociology-02, English-01, Economics-01]
OBC of UP – 03 in Law [History-01, Political Science-01, Sociology-02, English-01, Economics-01]
SC/ST of UP – 03 in Law [Political Science-01, Sociology-02]
Fees and Other Charges in RMLNLU Lucknow
The University will enroll candidates selected for registration to the PhD Degree Program after the remission of the following fees:
Registration Fee Rs 5000/- (one time);
Research Guidance Fee Rs 20000/- per annum;
Hostel Fee Rs 12000/- per annum;
Utility Charges Rs 6000/- per annum;
Exam Fee Rs 10000/-;
Caution Money Rs 5000/- (One time & refundable);
Total Rs 58,000/- (by demand draft in favour of the University)
All the Annual Fee shall be deposited in the University Account No.30714604873 with the State Bank of India, RMLNLU Branch, Ashiyana, Lucknow-226012
Application Procedure for RMLNLU Lucknow PhD entrance exam 2015
Application form can also be downloaded from website www.rmlnlu.ac.in. All eligible candidates shall apply in the Prescribed Form within the date prescribed by the University.
The fees (non-refundable) for the Application Form shall be Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/-for SC/ST of U.P. candidates).
A Bank Draft of the said amount, drawn in favour of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, payable at Lucknow, shall be attached with the Application Form.
