University of Delhi (DU), Delhi invited application for admission to M.Phil Course for academic session 2015

The M.Phil Programme is a crucial preparatory program for prospective researchers at the pre-doctoral level. The Program is designed to give students a firm grounding in educational research and to build conceptual foundations in specific areas of advanced studies in education

Display of the list of Candidates eligible for Written Test: 21st July 2015 (04.00 PM)

Written Test at CIE, University of Delhi: 31st July 2015 (10.00 am - 01.00 pm)

Display of the List of Candidates called for interview: 14th Aug 2015 (04.00 pm)

Submission of 6 copies of Statement of Purpose by the candidates who have been called for Interview: 17th - 21st Aug 2015 (11.00 am - 04.00 pm)

DU M.Phil 2015 No. of Seats: The number of seats available in the M.Phil Program (both Full-time & Part-time put together) shall be 20 (Twenty)
DU M.Phil 2015 Eligibility Criteria:

For Full-time Candidates: The minimum qualifications for admission to the M.Phil (Full-time) Program shall be a Master's Degree of an Indian University or an equivalent degree of a foreign University, in Education, or an allied* subject (related to Education) with a Second Class i.e., minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade

For Part-time Candidates: The minimum qualifications for admission to the M.Phil (Part-time) Program shall be a Master's Degree of an Indian University, or an equivalent degree of a foreign University, in Education or an allied* subject, with a Second Class i.e., minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade

Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working as educational practitioners; the eligibility criteria with respect to the reserved categories of students to be admitted to the M.Phil program (Full-Time and Part-Time) will be governed by the guidelines issued by the University of Delhi in accordance with statutory provisions
Selection Procedure for University of Delhi Master of Philosophy admission 2015:

The process of selection for admission to the M.Phil Program for candidates who fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements consists of:

Written Test: Maximum Marks - 75, Duration - 3 hours

The Written test will comprise the following three sections:

Section-I (25 Marks): Specific questions based on one or more given passages related to theoretical ideas and contemporary issues and debates in education

Section-II (25 Marks): Reading and Interpreting Data, Simple Statistical Applications and Understanding of Research Methodology

Section-III (25 Marks): Writing short reflective/analytical essay(s) on a given set of themes

Application Form to be downloaded from CIE website www.cie.du.ac.in and Delhi University Website www.du.ac.in Completed application forms are to be submitted on all working days (Monday-Friday) from 11.00 am to 04.00 pm (Lunch 01.00 pm - 02.00 pm) except gazetted holidays in Room No. 7 of the Dept. of Education, University of Delhi-33, Chhatra Marg, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007

Submission of Application Forms: Application form should be downloaded from the website of CIE Website www.cie.du.ac.in Application to the M.Phil programme requires submission of:

Duly filled-in Application Form along with the attested copies of relevant documents as specified in the application form

Entrance Exam Fee of Rs.600/- (for General Category and OBC candidates) and Rs.300/- (for reserved category candidates SC/ST/PwD) payable in cash, at the Dept. of Education, University of Delhi latest by 10th July 2015
