The Institute is affiliated to Manipur University and the Post-Doctoral Degrees, granted by Manipur University are recognized by the Medical Council of India
Aims & Objectives
In the field of postgraduate super-specialty medical education, the most important function of the institute is to provide opportunities for training teachers for medical as well as Super-Specialist Health Care providers for the region in particular and the nation as a whole in an atmosphere of research and enquiry
The students will be exposed to newer methods of teaching and given ample opportunities to actively participate in teaching exercises

M.Ch Courses in Super-Speciality Departments
Duration of Course: 3 years
No of Seats/Distribution of seats available for 2015 Session:
i) Urology - 01 (open seat); Reserved for beneficiary state of RIMS and RIMS Employee - 01 (One)
ii) Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - 01 (open seat)
Eligibility Criteria for Post Doctoral M.Ch Admission 2015
A candidate must possess a degree in MS in Surgery or equivalent qualification recognized by the MCI. The candidates who are likely to complete 3 years MS Course in Surgery by 31st July 2014 may also apply
Age Limit
Maximum 35 years as on 31st July 2015; age will be relax able in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the Central Govt. guidelines
A candidate is allowed to submit application for one Specialty/Subject only
Selection Procedure for M.Ch Courses in Super-Speciality 2015
Selection of M.Ch courses are made through a 2 stage performance evaluation
Stage-I: Written test carrying 300 marks of 90 minutes duration in the subject applied for. The question paper will consist of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs)
Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. Each wrong answer will be awarded 1 negative mark (-1). More than one answer will be treated as wrong answer and awarded negative marks. Zero mark will be given for questions not answered
Stage-II: Carries 300 marks. Out of the candidates who secure 50% marks or above in the written test (Stage-I), 3 time the number of seats advertised will be called for Departmental Assessment (Stage-II)

Application form can also be downloaded from website www.rims.edu.in Duly Completed Application may be delivered by hand or sent in a closed envelope superscribed with "RIMS Post-doctoral M.Ch Entrance Exam 2015 Session" to "The Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Lamphelpat, Imphal-795004" by Speed Post /Registered Post so as to reach on or before 08th July 2015
Incomplete applications will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be entertained
The application fee is non refundable
The Institute will not be responsible for any delay in the receipt or loss of application during postal transit
A Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- drawn in favour of Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal from any Nationalized Bank payable at Imphal or in cash to the Institute is to be paid by each candidate, being the cost of Information Bulletin, Application form, Exam Fee and other Charges
The in-service candidates should submit their application forms through proper channel
