In addition, students are permitted to undertake a maximum of 4 Free Electives beyond the stipulated 9, chosen from any area within NIIT University (subject to course prerequisites being satisfied). The intent of this elective category is to encourage students to participate academically in the unique opportunity that a Management program located in a holistic multi-disciplinary University presents – students could use these electives to enhance their understanding of the other technology-based disciplines at NU, or to further their basic graduation discipline, or to take up the liberal arts, or for any other purpose. Students are permitted to overload their semester requirements by 1 Elective per term beginning from Term 2; they must exhaust their stipulated Electives before they can register for Free Electives.
Eligibility : Minimum 50% marks at graduation level in any discipline Valid score in NUMAT/CAT/XAT/MAT/GMAT (Those who are awaiting their results can also apply).

Admission Procedure : Candidates are required to apply using the NU MBA Application Form, downloadable from the website or available from the NU Admissions Office upon payment of the Application Fee. Completed applications, together with the Application Fee of Rs 1350/- payable through cash/cheque/DD in favour of ‘NIIT UNIVERSITY’ payable at NEW DELHI are to be submitted at the NU Admissions Office NEW DELHI. The Application Form is designed to encourage the candidate to describe his/her background, achievements, interests, influences, motivation, career goals, and his/her own assessment of why s/he would benefit from and contribute to the NU MBA programme. The Application material submitted by the candidate is an important component of the Selection Process.
Applicants are required to appear for the NIIT University Management Aptitude Test (NUMAT). [Those who have appeared for the CAT/XAT/MAT within the last one year of the start of academic session, or possess a valid GMAT score, are exempted from appearing for the NUMAT; such candidates must enclose a photocopy of their score transcript with their application.] The NUMAT is an online assessment of 60 minutes duration and is offered by prior appointment.
Applicants take the Communication Proficiency Test, make a Presentation on a specified topic, and appear for a Personal Interview (all on the same day) as the next steps in the Selection Process. Personal Interview and related activities take place on specified days beginning in February 2011, and candidates are required to specify their preferred date(s) for these assessments in the Application, which has to be subsequently confirmed by the University subject to availability of slots.
