West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for B.V.Sc and A.H. on May 8

Kolkata: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board has announced that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - 2011 for admission to Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. and A.H.) course at the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences will be conducted on May 8, 2011.

To be eligible for applying for the course, candidates must be citizens of India and must have attained 17 years of age as on July 1, 2011. There is no upper age limit.

General candidates must have passed higher secondary (10+2) examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination recognized by the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences with individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Vernacular (or any other fifth subject) along with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the said qualifying examination (10+2).

In respect of SC and ST candidates the aforesaid marks will be 40% instead of 50%. The candidates appearing in (10+2) Examination, 2011 and subsequently fulfilling the above criteria are also eligible to appear in EVETS-2011.

The prescribed application form and information booklet will be available from the Branch Offices of United Bank of India at various districts on all working days on payment of Rs. 350/- in cash.

Application form along with the information brochure is also available from the office of the board through postal request only on or before March 4 by sending a bank draft of Rs. 450/- drawn in favor of 'WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD' payable at Kolkata to reach the completed form to the office of the Board through Speed Post on or before March 25.

The last date for the sale and submission of form is March 25, 2011.
