The programme provides an intensive, stimulating and challenging learning experience in the management discipline. The curriculum covers all the important areas of management which may be expected from a working manager. The successful completion of the programme will enable executives to assume a strategic role in their organisation. In turn, the organisations benefit from the constructive and creative inputs given by our successful programme holders. In addition, the integrated nature of the programme allows a holistic appreciation of business, which is critical to the achievement of a sustainable competitive position in today’s ever-changing business environment. The students conduct self-study at their own pace and have the opportunity to specialise in subjects of professional relevance. The programme through distance education is a viable and flexible route to well-accepted management qualification. The Programme has been designed to provide specialisation in the area of choice and the programme would carry the name of specialisation.
Programme Objectives :
• To critically appraise a range of relevant theoretical business management concepts.
• To demonstrate proficiency in analysing and interpreting a wide range of business information related to the various functional areas of management.
• To develop and demonstrate key personal and inter-personal skills required for effective management and implementation of solutions to business problems at all levels within and outside the organisation.
• To update the knowledge base related to various business domains and appreciate their significance.
• To critically appreciate the significance of recent theoretical developments in business and their strategic implications.
Eligibility : Graduate in any discipline. Admission is via an admission test. The following categories of persons are exempted from the admission test, provided they are graduates and working executives:
* Senior public administrators, Officers of Defence Services (serving personnel of Army, Navy and Air Force only), Academicians, Technical or Legal Professionals/CA/ICWA/CS/MBBS/M-Tech
* Holder of Diploma of One Year Programme of IMT-CDL.
Programme Structure: The Programme has a modular structure ensuring continuity and flexibility. It consists of four modules. The completion of all the four modules leads to the Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. The first three modules taken together consist of 15 core (foundation) papers. Fourth module provides deeper study in management and consists of five electives. A student is required to seek specialisation in one major area in the fourth semester. However, the student may seek dual specialisation by selecting five subjects from each field. Besides the course work, after the final semester students have to submit a dissertation related to their major specialisation. The student has to pay an additional fee of Rs. 10,000/- for Dual Specialisation. The course is to be completed in Dual Specialisation also within maximum period of four years. The programme offers specialisations in the areas of Finance, Marketing, Systems, Operations, Human Resource Management and International Business.
Programme Delivery: The classes for the programme will be delivered via two modes:
Online Mode:
Classes: Here, the classes would be delivered as live video conferencing via Webex mode. These classes would be conducted on the weekends and are accessible via the internet from anywhere in the world. The attendance of the classes is compulsory and forms a part of the evaluation scheme.
Exams: The exams would be online and of multiple choice pattern. There may be some flexibility provided to the students with respect to the timings and dates of the exams.
Applications: The application form is available online. All students opting for the mode need to mark their information centre as Ghaziabad only. This mode would be preferable for students outside of India or people whose job requirements may prevent them from attending the classes in a regular manner.
Offline Mode: Physical classes will be held at our study centres and regional centres as per a set timetable. The candidates have a choice of opting for either online or offline exams.

Selection Procedure : The selection to the various programmes of IMT-Centre for Distance Learning is based on screening by the selection committee. Admission to Two year (PGDBM) Programme is through admission test to be conducted at the study centres by IMT-CDL (Head Office). For One Year Diploma Courses admission is without entrance test. The maximum duration for completing any course is the double number of years of normal duration.

* Photocopy of the Degree or the final year marksheet (attested by a Gazetted Officer)
* Photocopy of the High School Certificate for verification of date of birth, student’s and father’s name (attested by a Gazetted Officer)

* Photocopy of the Certificate for verification of the defense personnel, SC/ST, war widows and handicapped candidates
