Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIMs. IIMs see the Fellow Programme as a crucial source of management researchers and faculty resources of top quality both to the academic institutions including IIMs and to the industry, business, government and society. We started our FPM in the year 2007-08 with the aim of developing top quality researchers, consultants, management experts and faculty resources in the country.
Fellows of IIMs are sought after for teaching positions in management institutions, for top research positions in corporates, and for consultancy and advisory roles. Through its rigorous academic inputs, the Fellowship Programme imparts unique skills and research aptitude required for management teachers and consultants that are not offered by other doctoral programmes. Our doctoral programme incorporates the strengths of similar programmes in other IIMs and also introduces certain innovative features of its own.
Areas of Specializations : At IIMK, specializations are currently offered in the following areas:
Economics
Finance, Accounting and Control
Information Technology & Systems
Marketing
Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources
Quantitative Methods & Operations Management
Strategic Management.
Programme Structure : FPM is designed for a normal period of 4 years. A further extended period of six months is allowed with reduced stipends in special cases. However, with special approval, a candidate is allowed to continue for another 18 months without stipend. In the first two years students are required to complete a course work. This includes going through most of the courses offered in the first year PGP Programme and specialized doctoral level courses. Next two years are devoted for research and completion of the dissertation work.
Eligibility: One of the following qualifications is required as basic eligibility: Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A, M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech etc) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with at least 50% marks or equivalent. Professional qualifications such as MBBS and LLB with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Engineering degrees, viz., B.Tech and BE, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. for c & d above additional minimum 3 years relevant experience required for applying to Marketing Area. You can apply for the FPM Programme even if you are appearing for the final examinations. However, your final selection will be subject to fulfilling all the stipulated eligibility criteria of the Institute by June 30, 2011.

How to Apply : Online application will be available on our website www.iimk.ac.in with effect from 15th November, 2010 onwards. After applying online, a print out of the application along with an application fee of Rs.300 in the form of a crossed Demand Draft payable to Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode at Kozhikode (or Calicut) needs to be sent to the following address. You can apply for any two areas. Separate set of application forms should be enclosed for each area. The application fee is Rs.300/- only irrespective of the number of areas you are applying. The printed version of the application (s) should be sent along with the following documents accompanying each application:
Two referee recommendations each for each area.
Copies of all testimonials .
Score card or proof of qualifying examination, as applicable.
Application fee of Rs.300 irrespective of the number of areas you are applying.
