The Fellowship will be awarded in December 2010, on the advice of a Selection Committee appointed by Council, with representatives of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. It is designed to assist the selected candidate to pursue a research project involving travel to or from the United Kingdom, commencing in 2011. Successful candidates will be required to submit a report on return from their visit for publication in the Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled for Higher Surgical Training in Orthopaedic Surgery, or who have recently completed a course in orthopaedic or hand surgery. Applicants need not be Members or Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Those who are shortlisted for interview will be advised accordingly.

Application Procedure : The application form must be submitted together with a letter of support from your current Consultant, or if you are a Consultant, a letter of support from an independent referee and letter from the Head of the Department where the research will be held.
