FILMBOOTH – INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS FESTIVAL 2010 – DELHI

Organized by Filmbooth in association with STAND UP Coalition Team, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library’s auditorium, EIGHT is an international short film competition & festival scheduled to be held in New Delhi on 17th and 18thSeptember 2010. Themed around the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the two-day public event aims to motivate people, through the medium of short films, to make a difference. We believe in the power of films, and through EIGHT we want to bring the fields of social cause, entertainment and creative expression on the same stage. The MDGs are a series of 8 international development goals which 192 UN member countries have pledged to achieve by 2015and spur development by improving social and economic conditions in the world’s poorest countries.

All of us have a desire to communicate. Some of us, hopefully, feel strongly for social issues like poverty, education, equality and climate change, but don’t know how we can communicate what we feel. We at Filmbooth believe in the power of films. We believe short films are a true democratic mass medium – it gives the power of expression to all of us through easily available tools. Only what separates ordinary from extra-ordinary is desire and creativity.

We are calling entries for inspirational short films, from professional and amateur filmmakers alike, based on the theme of these eight goals.
