DAC Admission 2010 – ADVANCED COMPUTING TRAINING SCHOOL – MAHARASHTRA

The advent of multimedia has had a profound impact on the various media services such as advertising, film production, etc. In the present scenario, commercial artists who are familiar with computing technology have a wide range of opportunities in these market segments.

Diploma in Advanced Computer Arts (DACA) is a 24 weeks fulltime postgraduate course. There are up to 40 seats available at every centre offering the course. The course will commence at a particular centre subject to availability of minimum 20 students

Eligibility : 10+2+3, 10+2+4, M.F.A., B.F.A.,B.Arch, G.D. Arts, or other equivalent degree or diploma holders in the field of Advertising, Commercial Arts, Painting, Sculpture, Textile, Fashion Designing, Interior Decoration. Students from other academic backgrounds having artistic inclination and creative abilities are also encouraged to do this course. But they must qualify through the Entrance Test and Interview. Applicants need to have basic knowledge of using computers.
Application Procedure: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for the admission process will be conducted once all over India at various locations. The CET would be conducted manually at the centers mentioned in the online application form. The confirmation of examination center for appearing for the CET will be intimated only after the upload of photograph and receipt of the registration fess of Rs. 500/- or Rs. 600 /- (Whatever the case may be) at C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. Once the candidate selects the date of CET and center, it will not be changed under any circumstances. The CET is designed to identify the visualization abilities, artistic skills and knowledge relating to communication media.

Course Fee : The total fees for the course is Rs. 66,000/-(Rupees Sixty Six Thousand only) to be paid in two installments by Demand Drafts drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favor of “C-DAC, ACTS” and payable at Pune. The course fee is inclusive of the course material to be provided to the individual student. The first installment of Rs. 2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred only) is to be paid after the declaration of CET result and on or before July 24, 2010.

Candidate need to update the details of DD of second installment of Rs. 63,500 (Rupees Sixty three thousand five hundred) amount of the course fees on ACTS website & then send the same to C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. The second installment of the Rs. 63,500 (Rupees Sixty three thousand five hundred) amount of the course fees is to be paid on or before August 17, 2010.

Selection Procedure: Candidate should carefully note the percentile score and the cut off percentile of all centres offering DACA course. Candidate need to update the details of DD of first installment of course fees of Rs.2,500/- on ACTS website & then send the same before July 24, 2010 to C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. Candidate can select the centre for appearing for stage II of selection process only after the receipt of the DD of first installment at C-DAC, ACTS, Pune.

How To Apply: C-DAC’s application form for the Common Entrance Test (CET) is to be filled online at http://acts.cdac.in (recommended). The registration fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) for the CET is to be paid by DD drawn in favor of ‘C-DAC, ACTS’ payable at Pune and sent to:
