New Delhi: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009 first hit headlines for the continued technical glitches that marred the conduct of the all-important

Chandigarh: The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training (PSBTE&IT) has announced admissions for its three year diploma courses through a Joint Entrance Test (JET) 2010, which will be held on May 22.

The JET is an objective type test with multiple-choice questions in English, Mathematics, Science (Chemistry, Physics & Biology), and Simple Aptitude Test.

The level of the test is of matriculation standard, which will be conducted for the following courses:

- Computer Engg./ Information Technology

- Civil Engg. / Arch. Assistantship

- Chemical Engg. / Plastic Technology

- Automobile Engineering

- Electrical Engineering

- Mechanical Engineering / Production Engg. / Tool & Die Tech.

- Medical Lab Technology

- Electronics & Communication Engg./ Electronics & Tele-Communication Engg.

- Textile Design / Textile Technology

- Fashion Design / Garment / Knitting / Leather Tech.

The prospectus of JET shall be available in the first week of March, in the Polytechnic Institutions as well as branches of Punjab National Bank (PNB) and HDFC Bank throughout Punjab.

"The test may be held at all district headquarters and other important towns of Punjab, Chandigarh and other neighbouring states," said an official.
