Event Details: A unique feature of the JN Tata Endowment’s scholarship program is its inherent flexibility and openness. The scholarship is open to: All Indian nationals irrespective of caste, creed, community, socio-economic background, gender and geographical location. All age groups, without any upper age limit, and thereby covering the entire spectrum of scholars from fresh graduates to mid-career professionals and academics with several years of work experience. Scholars pursuing higher education in all areas and fields of study, with newly emerging fields of relevance to the country being encouraged. Scholars pursuing higher studies irrespective of course duration, the selected course being either a short term training program, or a full-fledged Master’s or Doctoral program.
Eligibility: Only Indian nationals are eligible for the scholarship. Graduates of a recognized Indian University, with a consistently good academic record. Students in the final year of the degree course and those awaiting final year results. Academicians and other mid-career professionals upto the age of 45 years, with experience in their field who wish to go abroad for further specialization.

How to Apply: Applications for the loan scholarships are invited by the Endowment once a year, through advertisements in leading Indian newspapers on the first Saturday of December, for the following academic year. The application is to be made on a prescribed form available in the Endowment Administrative Office from the first week of December to February 16. The prescribed application form can be obtained either personally from the Endowment’s Administrative Office on payment of an application fee of Rs 100 by cash, or by sending a request by a ‘money order’ for the amount giving the applicant’s full name and address in the “Space for Communication” provided on both sides of the money order form.
Completed applications should reach the Endowment’s office by February 27 of the year for which the scholarship is sought. Short listed candidates are required to come for a personal interview conducted by subject experts in Mumbai during March – June. The personal interview is mandatory.
