DVAPFV – IGNOU ADMISSION 2009 – NEW DELHI
Introduction: The one year vocational and entrepreneurial diploma programme seeks to develop human resource for post harvest management, primary processing at the production sites/clusters and production of value added products from fruits and vegetables. Developing entrepreneurship among the youth for self employment in food processing and associated activities is also an objective. The programme has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. The first set of the print material of the programme was released on 23rd November 2005 by His Excellency the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Balram Jakhar.
Objectives: To provide the knowledge & skills for minimizing the post-harvest losses and production of value added food products, To develop human resource for post harvest management and for primary processing of fruits and vegetables produce at the production areas/ clusters, To develop youth as young entrepreneurs for self employment through food processing and associated activities.
Programme Structure: The Diploma Programme consists of the following eight courses, each worth 4 credits: Food Fundamentals / Principles of Post Harvest Management / Food Chemistry and Physiology / Food Processing and Engineering – I / Food Microbiology / Food Processing and Engineering – II Food Quality Testing and Evaluation / Entrepreneurship and Marketing.
Eligibility: 10+2 pass-outs / Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) from IGNOU 10th pass can enroll simultaneously for the BPP and the Diploma programme.
Programme Fee: Rs. 8,800/- annum
Duration: Minimum – 1 year / Maximum – 4 years.
