Punjab Technical University is now planning to change that in a move that will also save its officials some stress. The PTU’s board council has passed the proposal that the varsity’s Combined Entrance Test (CET) would be scrapped. It approved during a meeting on August 29 that the university would use All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) results for providing admission. However, the proposal is yet to be accepted by the PTU board of governance, reports the Times of India
Regarding MBA Admissions, KNS Kang, director of Punjab Council of Technical Education and dean management faculty of PTU said, “It was also been proposed to scrap using Common Admission Test results and start considering Management Admission Test rankings for MBA courses
Director of Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology — HS Singha —said, “The matter was discussed in the meeting. However, there are many legal aspects that have to be considered before approval. No doubt, the proposal was good and was received well, but it is for the state government to accept it.”
