Mangalore: The Mangalore University will award honorary doctorate on seven eminent personalities at its 27th annual convocation on January 28.
Seven personalities who have been selected by the varsity to confer honorary degree are: Gemmologist M. Mukunda Prabhu, Scientist and Chief Controller of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) A. Sivathanu Pillai, B.V. Acharya and Y.M. Chandrashekara Sharma (Legal Experts), educationist M.K. Panduranga Setty, Chancellor of Nitte University N. Vinaya Hegde and builder and philanthropist P. Dayananda Pai.
Mr. D. P. Agrawal Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will deliver the convocation address at Mangalagangotri.
Mr. Pillai will be conferred the honorary doctor of science degree and the remaining six would be given honorary doctor of literature degrees.
