JNU organizes food festival to celebrate Republic Day

New Delhi: Under the aegis of the Foreign Students' Association of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), an international food festival was organized by foreign students of the university to celebrate Republic Day at its campus here on Monday.

The event was organized at the lawns of Jhelum hostel at the campus.

The dishes were prepared by students with the help of the staff of the embassies of their respective countries.

As many as 30 stalls serving cuisine of different countries were put up in the food festival.

"Handicraft items and mementos of the countries were also put by students on display," said Arun Mohanty, Faculty, School of International Studies (SIS) and adviser to the Foreign Students' Association.

Several faculties from different schools and centres of the varsity and senior diplomats from different countries like Uzbekistan, Armenia, Tazakhstan, Iran and Nepal also attended the food festival.
