Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists honours AMU Prof.

Aligarh: Prof. Rashid M. Khan of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been honoured by the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Bhopal.

Prof. Rashid has been given the prestigious Academic Excellence Award-2008 by the society at the 56th annual conference of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists held at Jodhpur (Rajasthan).

The award carries a certificate, a medal and a cheque for Rs.5000.

Prof. Rashid is working in the Department of Anaesthesiology at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of the varsity.

The award is conferred every year to anaesthesiologists who have rendered outstanding work in the field of anaesthesiology and critical care and have professional achievements during the last ten years.

Prof. Khan also coordinated the daylong pre-conference "National Airway Workshop" and delivered the CME Guest Lecture on "Newer Supraglottic Airway Devices: A Review" in this conference.

Prof. Rashid M. Khan has fifty three research papers published in national and international journals out of which 28 papers are published in UK, USA and Canada alone.

He has also delivered 49 guest lectures in national and regional conferences and has coordinated 5 National Difficult Airway Management Workshops at Pune, Bhubaneswar, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bhopal.

Prof. Khan has the credit to author the lone book on Airway Management which has seen three sell out editions.
