Bihar girl gets Gallantry Award

Patna: Farzana, a 15 year old girl from Purnia district of Bihar received Gallantry Award by Bihar Governor R. L. Bhatia on behalf of the President at a function organized here.

Farzana has been awarded for saving five children from drowning during the 2007 Bihar floods.

A cheque for Rs.45,000 from the State Government was also given to her.

Praising Farzana Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, "Everyone should take lessons from her.

The State Government would bear the cost of Farzana's education, announced Nitish Kumar.
