Noida: The Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management (AITTM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nokia Networks (Pvt.) Ltd. to enhance placement opportunities for students of Amity University.
To commemorate the MoU, AITTM honoured Mr. Michael Kuehner, country head of Nokia Siemens Networks (Pvt.) Ltd. (India and Nepal) at a function organized at its Noida campus here today.
Delivering the welcome address, Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh, VC, Amity University affirmed, "It is a great day for Amity to become a part of Nokia Siemens Networks (Pvt.) Ltd. This will definitely develop a niche for both Amity and Nokia Siemens".
Speaking to an NNE correspondent, Lt. Gen. P.D. Bhargava, Director General of AITTM said, "The Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management is the first educational institution chosen by Nokia Siemens Networks in India for collaboration. This will provide students of Amity University with newer opportunities."
Emphasizing the need to increase the female participation in technical engineering fields and corporate sector, Mr. Michael Kuehner said that he was very much sure that students of Amity University would prove themselves efficient enough to embrace the possible newer opportunities created by the present rapidly growing telecom sector in attracting the young talents.
On the very occasion, Mr. Kuehner also presented scholarships to seven students from AITTM, including two special scholarships, designed by Nokia Siemens Network (Pvt.) Ltd. for the female students of AITTM.
The event was also attended by Mr. Ashish Mediratta, Head, HR (Connections), Nokia Siemens Networks (Pvt.) Ltd. and other officials of Nokia Siemens Networks (Pvt.) Ltd; Mr. Atul Chauhan - Chancellor, Amity University; Dr. Balvinder Shukla - Pro VC, Amity University and other senior officials and directors of Amity University
