Pune: The University of Pune (UoP) has decided to charge Rs.1,000 as special fees from students who submit their examination forms after the last date of submission.
Students, who submit their forms late, will be allowed to sit for the examination conducted by the University only after paying the special fee.
A release from the University's Controller of Examination (CoE) said that the special fee will be effective from the varsity exams scheduled for the first half (between March and May) of 2009.
The University has also declared that forms with special fees must reach the authorities within three days from the deadline for late fee submission.
In addition to 116 diploma and certificate course exams, around 178 post-graduate and under-graduate exams involving 12 faculties are to be held between March and May, 2009.
Details of the examination are available on the UoP website www.unipune.ernet.in.
More than 525 affiliated colleges and 250 recognized institutes come under the jurisdiction of the UoP, situated over Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts and collectively, these institutions account for over 6 lakh students including 14,000 international students.
Principals of all colleges and institutions have been directed by the varsity to ensure that the first half exam schedule is duly informed to students.
