IGIGNOU to organize residential programme for Journalists

New Delhi: A five-day residential programme on 'Reporting of Court Proceedings' will be organized jointly by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and National Legal Services Authority in association with the Press Council of India and Editors Gild of India.

50 journalists / senior correspondents from various newspapers, channels and news agencies have been selected for the residential training programme.

The programme will commence from December 7, 2008. Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, will inaugurate the programme on December 7.

The inaugural address will be delivered by the Chief Justice of India, Dr. K.G. Balakrishnan. Prof. S. Sivakumar will propose the vote of thanks.

The programme will be addressed by eminent personalities including Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief of IBN-CNN & President of Editors Guild of India; Mr. Justice G.N. Ray, Chairman, Press Council of India and Justice Arijit Pasayat, Judge, Supreme Court of India.
